Week of September 21st, 2015

We've had a great couple of weeks in Room K2!

Thank you very much for coming to Open House last week. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you! We're excited to see you again for Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 3rd. A reminder will be sent home a few days prior to our meeting- the reminder will include your scheduled time.
This week the new letter person is Ms. F.
There will be a worksheet sent home on Monday. On the back of the homework there are some activities that you can do with your child. Something I plan to do this week is finger paint! I bet the kids are going to get a kick out of this! Some words you can try to use this week with your child are: Frozen, figure, fog, front, flag, freezer, fisherman, firefighter, four, flower, fantastic, freight train... Send me in a note with other words you have used with your child so that I can share with the class!

The star words for this week are: see & the.
Please cut out the words when they get sent home on Monday and practice these words as much as possible, don't forget to practice me, to, I & a. So far, most of the kids are remembering these words and the letters we have learned- I'm impressed!! We will continue to practice all of these words and letters in class, but any extra practice at home is important.

Mrs. Chernis and I are also going to attach a monthly newsletter that you can look through for information regarding what we are doing each month in all of our subject areas. It will give you valuable information that can help guide conversations with your child and give you insight into what your child is learning in school.

There is no school on Wednesday, but we will be back on Thursday!

Thank you for visiting our website and have a FANTASTIC week!
